image Bubblebreak has been created for a contest at XNAMag.de. With this game I won the first price of the contest: A Microsoft Zune MP3-Player.
The challenge was to create a game for the Zune. I made a mixture of “Bubbles” and “Breakout” with a round playfield.

You can move your bar along a circle around the playfield and shoot balls out of it. Everytime you shoot a ball, the bar (which is made of balls) will shrink. The shot ball will get a color defined by the color fields behind. If a ball collides with the bunch it will become part of the bunch. If it builds a chain of three or more balls with the same color, those balls will pop of the bunch (like in “Bubbles”). Popped Balls are flying around. If they collide with your bar they bounce and get colored again (a bit like “Breakout”).
